    Hello..
I am not sure if I am directing my question right but, I do hope someone will help me find out why my dog died 3 months ago. First, she was old, 13 years old. A year or so before her death she was diagnosed with arthritis. One day she tried to climb on the bed as her usual self and she started whiping and limping on her right foot. She needed 2 course of cortisone treatment. She responded well and she was ok for a year. Half a month before her death she deteriorated again. She developed a very high fever of 104f/40C. She tried to pass it by herself and she was laying on the cold tiles to drop her temperature, very stubborn yet strong dog. We rushed her to the vet. He did an antinflamation and something to drop the fever shots. She then started cortisone again. After her treatment she started deteriorating again. She stopped eating which made it impossible to give her meds. 2 or 3 days while she was off cortisone I noticed her belly was swollen she was vomiting also. He suggested giving her tea. Next morning we went to the vet. He gave her an injection to make her pee. She didn’t improve. She hadn’t pooped for 2 days or so although she seemed to trying to… Last hours of her, she started vomiting way more often and her belly getting bigger. I was taking her temperature and it was too low. At this point my instict was telling me what would be the ending. Vet suggested I should rub her belly with some alchocol and warm her up. I was so worried that I told my mom to call the vet instead. The vet he said she was too old for anethesia and the only thing we could do was to put some olive oil on her rectum. We did so. One siringe, two siringes… Some poop came out… She was having some gas I assume because it smelled. All that time we massaged her belly and she seemed to groan as a relief or it seemed like that. so I kept going. At some point I noticed her head leaning on the right as I was massaging her…It seemed wrong… I dunno how long after that and how I noticed it but she was breathing way too fast and she seemed to strangle. That must have lasted 5 minutes or maybe less… In the meantime I checked her gums and where too pale. I pushed them and the spot remained white.. She then stopped breathing and after a minute or show rolled over to her side… Vet later said, based on what we told him, that her brain didn’t handle the gas release. Also he has mentioned weeks back that she probably had a stroke from the high fever. That made her brain weak and it failed to help her breathe? She was too weak that her heart failed? If someone knows please please….I beg you….tell me…
    Thanks in advance…

I forgot to mention that the day she had the high fever vet did some blood works and they came out perfectly normal.
