This listing is for a very unique Pattern 58 webbing left side ammunition pouch.These areunissued. These areuniquein that they areKhaki in color. The weight and composition of thematerial is consistent with other Pattern 58 webbing version and all thefittings are blackened metal much like later post-war versions of the Pattern37 webbing. Maker marked “BEEWYSE” these are likelyearly version of the Pattern 58 webbing. These also could have been made forexport as many African, Asian and Middle Eastern countries that had previouslybeen part the “Empire” retained British military tradition, kit and equipmentfor years.
BEEWYSE of London was a key manufacture of webbing itemsduring WWII and continued to produce other military uniform items for export tocountries such as Kuwaitand other Middle Eastern countries well after WWII. The interesting aspect forthese webbing kits is not just the khaki color and that they were markedBEEWYSE but also that they were released as government surplus from Honk Kong,a former British colony until 1999.
