Huge George Ford Morris Percheron Horse Fiberglass Statue:
$2800.00

Incredible huge George Ford Morris Percheron Horse Labres fiberglass statue in great condition and about 26 inches high by 30 inches long. This piece is the same size as the original sculpture. While this is a huge piece, it is relatively lightweight because it was produced in fiberglass. This replica was cast from the only know plaster casting of the GFM Draft Horse Labres, which I purchased as part of the GFM Fordacre Studios Estate. The Percheron Labres was imported by Eli Lilly who founded the Fortune 500 company of the same name. He was a magnificent horse as you can see from this piece. George Ford Morris was a painter who produced very few sculptures. This Labres was his very last sculpture which could account for it\'s rarity, although all of his sculptures are extremely rare. George Ford Morris\'s next project was his most famous undertaking, Portraitures of Horses.Producing these is an expensive, labor-intensiveproject so I don\'t think many will be produced. It is simply too large and difficult to produce. The important part of all this, is that this gorgeous piece of history, that had been missing for over 50 years, has been found and preserved.I can\'t take credit for it though. The credit goes to a pair of artistic geniuses. Labres was restored by a master horse artist Kristina Lucas Francis who even left the original tool marks in this piece. The casting was done by her husband Paul Francis who is a retired Hollywood prop making genius. You could clear coat him for outdoors or even have someone custom paint him for you. I know he is a Percheron but he looks very similar to my real Belgian. You can read the blog about restoring and producing Labres at the links below, and also see my collection of GFM.Labres Blog at Muddy HoofprintsAlso, you can see my GFM collection here, which includes the original sculpture of Labres.George Ford Morris HorsesDue to the size of this, I am not accepting returns, so please make sure this is exactly what you want before you offer. I am happy to ship overseas but you may have to make your own shipping arrangements as this horse is too large for the Post Office to ship.I guarantee this is exactly as described. I pack well and give great customer service.
