We ship all orders FedEx overnight. This ensures that your discus arrive safe and healthy. Discus are shipped one to two business days after ordering and typically arrive by 11 am the next morning. ACCLIMATION & QUARANTINE

Proper acclimation and quarantine are the key to happy and healthy Discus below are a list of steps to use to help get your new fish adjusted to their new tank. We cannot force you to follow these steps but we highly recommend them.

ACCLIMATION

1. When you open the box remember your fish have been in the dark for about twelve hours and need time to adjust to the daylight.
2. As soon as you open the bag, Ammonia will radically spike as would be expected.
3. First you will need to transfer your fish as soon as possible, we recommend filling a five-gallon bucket about ½ – ¾ full of tank water then emptying your fish into a net being held over a waste water bucket and getting rid of the yucky water.
4. Net your fish into the fresh aquarium water you just got out of your tank. Keep going until you have all of them un-bagged.
5. Now you are ready to simply pour the fish into their new home.
6. Keep lights off for 24-48 hours.

QUARANTINE

1. The ideal quarantine tank is a 10-30 gallon bare bottom tank with lightly colored sides, sponge filter and heater. Be sure to use different equipment separate from your main tank.
2. Keep your lights out for the first 24-48 hours and wait at least 12 hours to try and feed
3. Water changes are essential to the quarantine process daily or every other day,
4. Continue water changes and monitor your fish for 3-5 weeks, at this point you will want to select a fish from your current tank and move it into your quarantine tank, closely monitor the fish for 1-2 weeks.
5. If all is well after two weeks of being mixed your fish are ready to be introduced to your main Arrival Guarantee- To date, we have not lost any fish sent via FedEx Overnight. That being said, Myrtle Beach Discus does insure all fish shipped with somebody home to receive it. In the unfortunate and rare even that one of your fish arrive dead, you must take a clear picture of the fish in the original unopened bag within two hours of first attempted delivery.Note that refunds will not be given for shipping. Instead, a customer will receive creditfor the price of the fish on future orders.
