Coat Type, Color & Grooming:
The Maine Coon comes in
many colors and patterns, although it is
best known for the brown tabby variety.
Here are some of the most common patterns:
Solid
colors: Include black, white, orange,
blue or cream.
Bi-color: Predominantly white with
patches of one other color.
Tortoiseshell or Calico: A patchy
pattern made up of three or more distinct
colors (usually black, orange, and
cream/white).
Tabby: A darker stripy pattern on a
lighter background color; most often
brown, orange, blue, or cream.
Physical Attributes:
Large in size; muscular, broad-chested body with wide-set legs and large paws; medium-wide head with medium-long nose; large, tufted ears; large, wide-set eyes; heavy, shaggy coat with longer hair on stomach, flanks, and tail.
Personality:
Friendly and lovable; requires little maintenance; adapts well to other animals; enjoys human companionship; good hunter; tiny voice.
