Morgan the Mixed Breed Dog

Morgan, my mixed breed, died over two years ago at roughly the age of seven months. We got her from an animal shelter near our home where she had been dumped not long before we adopted her. Although we do not know her breeding, I suspect she was part Rhodesian Ridgeback, as she looked almost identical to one. But that's not what was special about her. My family only had her for about 2 or three weeks, and being that I didn't live with them, I only saw her three times at most. Even though I didn't know her long, she stole my heart. She was the sweetest dog I had ever met, always wanting to be with people and extremely obedient. She was playful for about the first week, then problems arrived. We noticed that she stopped being so playful, and then she started throwing up her food, sometimes with blood. My stepmother was alarmed so we took her to about three different vets but no one knew what was wrong. The first guessed that it was just something she had gotten into that wasn't good for her; the next two then guessed that she had heartworms and gave us medicine to give her. Then one night I got a phone call from my dad. A vet had finally found out something, Morgan had been infected with parvo virus. Apparently whoever dumped her never bothered to vaccinate her. But then he told me the bad news. There had been nothing they could do with her, so they had put her to sleep. I remember just freezing, I couldn't believe that she was gone. I still can't believe she's gone, even thought it's been over two years and I've gotten a new dog. I remember having her lie down while she was sick and singing her to sleep, and how my uncle came over and took her to a birthday party to see all the little kids. I know I could never replace her, she's just to special to me.
