Though Annie was not my pet, I cared for him in the end. His story is one to be told as a reminder to all that any life is worth caring for, no matter the creature or how much you paid for your pet. For the first time in several months when I went to my parent's house one day, I went upstairs into my brother's room to say hi to our geckos (we had three total). I was shocked to see Annie in such poor condition. He was all skin and bones and there was a black stub where his tail used to be. He was obviously sick. Two days later I got permission to take him to the vet who gave Annie three shots (antibiotics and fluids) and gave us syringes to feed him with. Sadly, however, Annie's appetite did not improve and he passed away three days later.
Oh and sorry Annie for giving you a girl's name - we never knew until you saw the vet that you were a boy :-).
